Welcome

I am delighted to have this opportunity to introduce Haberdashers’ Adams to you and thank you for expressing an interest in our school.

I firmly believe that any school should be the sum of the parts. This is especially true of Adams. On the pages of this site you will hopefully get a glimpse of what we have to offer and appreciate our values and what we stand for. Our philosophy is simple and hasn’t changed much for many years: we want to develop confident, articulate young men and women who are interesting, balanced and who care for each other.

We think we offer an outstanding learning experience but we are so much more than just our examination results. Although we do pride ourselves on our academic success, the outcome of a school should never be measured only in statistical summaries, but rather it is the journey as well as the destination of our pupils that is key to our success. This means we focus on many aspects of the development of our young people – we recognise the importance of developing a strong sense of belonging and believe in educating the whole person and teaching traditional values. By encouraging pupils to take part in the wide variety of activities available, we can nurture their leadership qualities, promote high moral values and encourage excellent communication skills. We want our pupils to be simultaneously competitive, co-operative and caring, as this will ultimately prepare them for life.

At Adams we have high standards and we expect the same of our pupils; we want them to be ambitious for their own development, and apply themselves to their studies with intellectual curiosity and academic endeavour. The celebration of success is important to us and we take every opportunity to commend our pupils for their achievements, whether they be at house, school, regional or national level. Our pupils are an inspiration to others around them.

Education is a lifelong journey, and we have the privilege of being able to prepare young men and women for the next part of that journey. If you share our values and aims and are interested in learning more about Adams then I invite you to pay us a visit, meet some of our inspirational pupils and spend some time with us in school.

Charities Week 2026

Once again Adams showcased the incredible generosity, imagination and commitment of our school community during Charities Week 2026. Across five packed days, pupils and staff united in support of four important causes.

  • Sense is a leading disability charity that aims to break down barriers for the disabled.
  • Neuroblastoma UK is a research charity for the aggressive childhood cancer
  • Papyrus is dedicated to the prevention of young suicide and the promotion of positive mental health in young people
  • Salvamont Brasov is the Romanian Mountain Rescue team
Sponsored Challenges

The week began with news that three Lower Sixth pupils - Rhea, Aaroosh and Geo - had successfully completed a trek up Snowdon, the highest peak in Wales, raising over £2,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

On Monday, Harry in Year 8 cycled from his home in Wolverhampton to school - an 18‑mile journey - in under 90 minutes, only slightly slower than the school bus!

For 30 Upper Sixth pupils, Wednesday began long before sunrise. Setting off at 2am, they walked 26km from Wolverhampton to school. Their efforts raised £700 for Papyrus.

Mufti Days

Culture Day on Monday was an explosion of colour. A lunchtime festival in the sports hall, celebrated dance, fashion and food from around the world. A special thank you to Redefine whose hard work made the event such a success.

Tuesday brought the much‑anticipated Character Day, with students and staff arriving in a dazzling array of costumes.

Sports Kit Day on Wednesday was less challenging with lots of football, rugby and cricket shirts worn. However, other sports were represented - skiing, lacrosse, hockey, basketball, gymnastics, swimming, karate, motocross and rowing!

The week concluded in style with Dress to Impress Day, as pupils arrived in their smartest, most glamorous outfits.

Events

Music filled the Sixth Form Centre on Tuesday and Friday lunchtimes as House bands entertained the crowds. Meanwhile, staff and students faced off in a fiercely contested netball match, with staff ultimately securing a 12-9 victory.

Sa’adu won the coin bottle competition, by a landslide, filling their bottle with £79.37 of loose change. Members of staff generously donated their time for auction. Lessons in art, baking, fast bowling, piano, singing and tennis were available to the highest bidder. Finally, there was a raffle for a PS5.

A Week of Compassion and Community

Charities Week once again demonstrated what makes Adams so special: enthusiasm, generosity and a willingness to support others. By the end of the celebrations, a remarkable £6,800 had been raised - with the total still rising - plus the sponsored walk donations.
