Boarders start their school life at the age of 11 at Longford Hall, a beautiful Georgian mansion set in one hundred acres of grounds with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. They are cared for by a Boarding Housemaster and his team of Matrons and Tutors who know each boy personally. They enjoy a warm atmosphere and a comfortable environment.
At the age of 14 or 15 boarders move into senior boarding to continue their boarding life. Our senior boarders live at Beaumaris Hall, a purpose designed home just yards from the entrance to the main school. Beaumaris Hall offers en-suite accommodation in every room as well as a supper room for the boys. There is a large communal area for the boys to relax and enjoy spending time together. Senior boarding aims to help pupils gain independence and is an ideal stepping stone between home life and university.
Longford is home to approximately 50 boys in Years 7-10 with the boys sharing dormitories according to their year group. As well as a spacious dining hall and recreation room the boys also enjoy a dedicated games room as well as the acres of grounds outside to explore. Popular activities at Longford include orienteering competitions and ‘manhunt’ games around the grounds.
Junior boarding took our breath away ..... more Mr Darcy than state grammar.

Junior Boarding Housemaster Mr Sam Obeng-Asare has taught at Adams for many years as Head of Business Studies and Economics and as a boarding tutor too. He lives on site at Longford Hall with his wife and their two sons and their Labrador, Lady.
Having once been a boarder himself, Mr Obeng-Asare understands first-hand what it is like to join the boarding community and the importance of creating a caring and homely environment in which the boys can embrace the many opportunities that are available to them as boarders at Adams.
Mr Obeng-Asare is supported by a team of boarding tutors and three very experienced matrons including Residential Boarding Matron Mrs Allday, who lives on-site and is available 24 hours a day.
