In June a group of 50 pupils from Years 9 and 10, enjoyed a five-day educational trip to Paris, combining cultural exploration, historical discovery and language practice.
The adventure began with an early morning departure from school, travelling to Dover and crossing the English Channel to France. After arriving at our hotel in the evening, everyone settled in, ready for an action-packed few days…
Tuesday began with a visit to the Eiffel Tower. Pupils took the lift to the second floor, where they were rewarded with panoramic views across Paris. We then experienced the city from a different perspective on a cruise along the River Seine. Gliding past many of Paris' most famous landmarks gave students a unique appreciation of the city's stunning architecture.
After the cruise, we visited to the Arc de Triomphe before enjoying some free time to browse the bustling streets and shops of central Paris. Later, we visited Les Invalides and the Tomb of Napoleon, where students learned more about one of France's most significant historical figures. We finished the day with a meal at a local Italian restaurant.

Wednesday was another busy day, beginning with a visit to the impressive Stade de France, where students gained an insight into one of France's most iconic sporting venues. We then travelled back into the heart of Paris and walked through the beautiful Jardin des Tuileries where we saw the Paris 2024 Olympic Cauldron. We then made our way to the Louvre Museum to view one of the world's greatest art collections.
Next, pupils enjoyed some free time to browse the shops at the Forum des Halles shopping centre before admiring the magnificent Notre-Dame Cathedral. The day offered a wonderful blend of sport, history, art and culture.
One of the most eagerly anticipated days of the trip was the visit to Disneyland Paris on Thursday. From thrilling rollercoasters and spectacular attractions to spending time with friends, it was a highlight of the trip.
As well as experiencing the sights of Paris, the trip gave students the opportunity to develop their independence and confidence. The pupils were outstanding ambassadors for Haberdashers' Adams. They demonstrated excellent behaviour, enthusiasm, and respect while embracing every opportunity to experience French culture and practise their language skills.
