Year 7 Entry

 Year 7 Entry 2018  – Late Applications

The Entrance Test for September 2018 entry was held on Monday 18th September 2017.

Online registration closed at 4pm on Friday 7th July 2017. The registration form will be online again, to accept late registrations, in January 2018. Anyone applying after the 7th July 2017 is treated as a late applicant. An acknowledgement email will be sent from the school within 15 days of your late registration advising you of the school’s Late Application Policy and the Late Application Form, which will need to be completed and submitted to the school as soon as possible. Please note it is the parent’s responsibility to complete and send the form to school – you will not be chased for this. If you do not return the form your late application will be treated as a non-exceptional circumstance.

Late applications will be tested in March 2018 after the Local Authority Secondary School Co-ordinated Admissions process has been completed.

Full details of our admissions policy 2018 can be read on our Admissions page here.  Please also read our Entrance Procedure page here.

In October 2017  parents will receive a letter advising them of the outcome of the Entrance Test.

Please note this letter is not an offer of a place; it does indicate whether or not your son is of grammar school ability to enable you to make an informed decision on your Local Authority Preference Form, which parents must submit direct to their Local Authority (normally the end of October 2017 for people in the Telford and Wrekin area).

Boys sitting the test at Adams’ Grammar School will only receive a results letter from Adams’ Grammar School. If you ticked the box to indicate you also have an interest in a place at Queen Mary’s Grammar School when completing the online form, you will not receive a separate letter from Queen Mary’s Grammar School- your son’s result will count for both schools. You must then include both schools on your preference form / common application form when you apply to the Local Authority.

Formal offers will be received in March 2018 from your Local Authority not from the school.

If you are interested in applying for a boarding place at Adams’ please visit our Boarding pages here to find out more including details of our boarding open events. Adams’offers a very affordable boarding option as there is no charge for the education. Around one hundred of our pupils are boarders and boarding contributes much to the ethos of the school.
