While our pupils continue to amaze us this week with their evening performances of Guys and Dolls, don’t forget we also have two very exciting events next week including an evening with international conductor Old Novaportan Ben Gernon, who will be returning to his old school on Thursday 20th July to host an evening of Q&As at 7.30pm.
Ben was appointed Chief Guest Conductor of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra earlier this year and will be talking about his time at Adams’ and his journey from an 11 year old playing the Tuba at the back of the school orchestra to picking up the baton to lead some of the world’s best musicians. A number of Ben’s former teachers will also be talking about his school days and sharing their memories – watch out Ben!
Tickets for the evening are £7.50 inc. refreshments and can be purchased from the school’s music department Tel: 01952 953838.
On Wednesday 19th July, the inaugural Hamilton Concert will be held in the Hamilton Hall at 7.30pm. The Orchestra and Swing Band will be playing joined by some Old Novaportans, music teachers and friends of the school and we are delighted to also welcome the Master of the Haberdashers and former Chair of Governors Joff Hamilton. Tickets cost £10.00 with cheese, wine and soft drinks available.oon to avoid disappointment.
