Many thanks to Mr Sedman-Smith for providing reports on the numerous cross-country and orienteering fixtures our teams take part in.
The junior cross country season for autumn comprises four Telford League races and the first round of the English Schools competition. Adams’ has regularly fielded over 40 boys in these fixtures and there have been team successes and impressive individual performances. Years 7-9 finished runners up in the boys team categories, while the year 10 and 11 team managed to win. James Ingram and Matthew Vaughan competed both for the seniors and juniors in different leagues in different races in 2 of the races. Of the new Adams’ boys, Jack Royall and Jonah Scutt put in top 10 performances regularly and were instrumental in helping Adams’ junior team beat Thomas Telford to progress through to the second round of the English Schools. Loukas Markopoulos put in the best individual performance in a race, finishing 3rd at Idsall.
Senior Cross Country
The senior cross country team has got off to a flying start, winning both of their 2 home fixtures against Old Swinford, King Edwards and Dudley College. The team has swelled to 22 runners and stands a good chance of winning the Greater Birmingham League this season.
